Prabodha creates their own sound by mixing elements of jazz, progressive rock, reggae, and other musical styles together. The eclectic group of musicians come from diverse backgrounds which enables each member to perfectly complement the others.

The band was fatefully brought together by a Craig's List ad posted by freesouljah, who was looking to expand upon his solo material. Will Harris and Scott Niebauer were two of the musicians who responded to his quirky advertisement for "experimental jams." The three created a quick and tight musical bond and began jamming together. The music became even more cosmic when James Cowbell, a longtime friend and jam companion of Niebauer, entered the group.

Prabodha gets their name from ancient sanskrit, which translates to realization, awakening, consciousness, intelligence, and/or insight. The music that flows out of these guys is a reflection of that mindset. Music is an ancient artform used by healers, mystics, and medicine men to uplift the people, and the guys in Prabodha continue the long lineage of musical expression, adding their touch to the cosmic sound of truth.
